VELVET REVOLVER: 'Slither' Video To Premiere In Two Weeks

April 12, 2004

VELVET REVOLVER's video for "Slither" will premiere April 27 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV2's "Velvet Revolver Makes a Video Premiere".

"Slither" is the first single off the group's much-anticipated debut, "Contraband", due on June 8 through RCA Records.

Directed by Kevin Kerslake, the "Slither" video follows club kids as they chase through underground tunnels in search of the rock band, according to MTV.com.

"It's crazy," drummer Matt Sorum told MTV.com. "Everyone's all text messaging each other to find out where the shows are, and it's got a great vibe. We wanted to re-create that, because it's super-underground, and it's a real rock resurgence."

The catacomb scenes were shot a month ago in the Czech Republic, while the performance scenes were filmed in Los Angeles last week. VELVET REVOLVER are expected to kick off a two-month U.S. tour in support of "Contraband" on May 13 in St. Louis, Missouri. Dates and venues for the trek, which will run through July 22, could be announced as early as Tuesday (April 13).
